What baton do you use Roland?

I have used a wide range of batons over many years and have settled on this baton as it best suits the conducting activities I currently enjoy.

My baton was chosen because:

  • one is easily seen (white) and the other is a little more subtle in colour (natural timber);
  • the baton does not ricochet or wobble when I make a sudden stop;
  • it is light with some weight “in the tip”;
  • it is straight;
  • it has a quality finish and looks good;
  • it has a grip that allows me to position the baton so it does not droop nor point inwards; and
  • it has a range of carry cases that look terrific.

I thought the grip would be too slippery coming from a cork grip, but it is fine.

Here are the details.

  • Mollard “E” Series 14″ (355 mm) length (in total) in white birch shaft and another in natural (clear) finish with a zebrawood grip (19mm x 60mm);
